Leslie & Mickhel

It all started at Perfumania! Leslie and Mickhel worked at the perfume store while they were both full time graduate students. Leslie was studying at Florida State University and Mickhel was attending Florida A & M University. Truth be told when Mickhel first met Leslie he was not interested at all, he didn’t even blink an eye or talk to Leslie unless it was something work related (basically never). To truly know Mickhel is to know that he is very serious and comes off as a man with a tough exterior. Leslie on the other hand had different plans as she started developing a crush on Mickhel. It got to the point that Leslie was asking her GM Mrs. Elaine to schedule her more shifts with Mickhel. Little by little Leslie started chipping away at Mickhel’s “tough” exterior and within weeks you’d be able to catch Leslie and Mickhel together, laughing, having long conversations, and clearly falling for one another. Finally, Leslie and Mickhel added each other on Facebook and Instagram. There’s a possibility that the social media component was to see if Leslie or Mickhel were involved with or had any pictures posted with a significant other (Leslie nor Mickhel can confirm or deny this fact so it remains a mystery.) As the two started to become more comfortable with each other, Leslie posted a picture on her IG, showcasing some food she cooked. Mickhel posted "where's my plate." Who would have ever thought that from that day forward he went over to Leslie's house almost every day to eat dinner. Apart from Leslie's home cooked meals, long nights of studying, and being gym partners Leslie and Mickhel went on their first “date”. Leslie and Mickhel went to the movies to see Beyond the Lights. After this day the two spent almost every day together. Clearly things started evolving into something meaningful. Mickhel’s exterior started fading for the love of his life (not known at the moment, but evident now). On January 1st, 2015 Mickhel asked Leslie to officially be his girlfriend. Leslie said yes of course! Mickhel confessed to Leslie on August 7th, 2015 that he was in love with her. Leslie already knew she loved Mickhel but was finally able to tell him. Since that day Leslie never let a day go by without telling Mickhel that she loves him. Life started going by fast, Leslie and Mickhel moved to Philadelphia together to start on careers. Love started multiplying and Leslie and Mickhel welcomed Isaiah Miguel in 2016. On January 1st, 2017 Mickhel got on one knee (in the snow) and asked Leslie to be his wife. Leslie was overwhelmed with emotions and said, “Oh my God Mickhel, you want to marry me” and then she said yes. Once again love started over flowing and the love birds welcomed Iliana Marie in 2018. Nothing is perfect but this love story is special. Leslie & Mickhel have learned that love has no boundaries, and that together is always the best place to be.
